It's located just a few miles from the Bass Harbor Head Light (lighthouse) and several Acadia hiking/walking trails, like Ship Harbor, Wonderland, Hio Road walking trail, Bernard/Mansell Mountain. You're also close to Thurston's Lobster Pound, one of favorite spots for shore dinners! A nice front lawn offers fun lawn activities like croquet!

The simple cottage features 3 bedrooms: a king, a double and a bedroom wtih two twin beds. There is one full bathroom. Capacity is 6 guests.

Red Maple Cottage is about an 8 minute drive to downtown Southwest Harbor, about 30 minutes to downtown Bar Harbor, and a 27 minute drive to the Cadillac Mountain entrance to Acadia's Park Loop Road.

Bar Harbor, Bass Harbor, Southwest Harbor and Acadia National Park offer visitors a variety of activities, including hiking, biking, boating, lake swimming, carriage road walks, whale watch and other boat tours, deep sea fishing! Enjoy an ocean tour on the Sea Princess, visit the Abbe Museum, explore the Bass Harbor Lighthouse and Seawall Picnic area, dine on tea and popovers at the Jordan Pond House, golf at The Causeway Club or Kebo Valley Golf course, play tennis. Nearby kids activities include a water park, miniature golf, beaches, Echo Lake Beach and lots of ice cream shops!
