Cranberry Point is a 25 acre property on the ocean, on the western side of Mount Desert Island. Driving on a rural (dirt) road through very thick woods, you arrive at two wonderful rustic cabins right on the ocean, in a private cove. The 800ft of shorefrontage is spectacular! The property and cabins have been owned by the same family for nearly 100 years. While the accomodations are very rustic/cabin-y, the vacation experience on this property is exceptional. Living space for a family of up to 9 to spread out along the expansive shoreline for beachcombing, sunbathing, swimming, kayaking and paddleboarding! It's the ulimate Maine woods-and-shore vacation spot.
The main cabin (Cabin "1"), closest to the shore, features a living room (with two twin beds tucked away in it), dining area, kitchen, full bathroom, a bedroom with a single twin bed, and a queen bedroom (which is accessed by walking through the single twin bedroom or from the outdoors directly). There is a wonderful deck overlooking the water. And for the whole rustic experience there is a very small half bathroom accessed from the outside!
The second cabin (Cabin "2"), set back a bit from the Cabin "1", features a great room combo (living room area, kitchen/dining area), queen bedroom and a bedroom with two twins. There is also a full bathroom in this cabin. A screened porch facing the ocean is a good spot for shade and bug protection! It has its own picnic table and a spacious deck.

Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park offer a multitude of activities, including whale watch tours, lighthouse tours, hiking, biking, kayaking, museum tours, gardens and of course fine dining and plenty of delicious seafood! On the "quite side" visit the Bass Harbor lighthouse, Seawall picnic area, the Seal Cove Auto Museum, and ride the ferry to Swan's Island for the day!
